Torchwood: Miracle Day at Comic Con 2011
Every July, fans make their way to Comic-Con to see panels, previews and more for their favorites. This year, Torchwood fans will be in for a treat, as there’s quite a bit planned to promote the new season.
Torchwood: Miracle Day Panel
On Friday, July 22, there will be a panel for the fourth season of Torchwood, which will be airing on Starz. The panel will feature John Barrowman (Captain Jack Harkness), Eve Myles (Gwen Cooper), Bill Pullman (death row inmate Oswald Danes), Mekhi Phifer (CIA agent Rex Matheson), Alexa Havins (CIA agent Esther Drummond), Lauren Ambrose (reporter Jilly Kitzinger), and Jane Espenson (writer). That’s not all for viewers looking forward to Torchwood: Miracle Day, which premieres earlier in the month (July 8). On July 21 at 9:30PM, fans can see a screening of “Night of Dead,” the third episode, one day before everyone else. It sounds like it should be a fun two days for Torchwood fans, and since attendees will have already seen at least two episodes, the panel should be full of entertaining questions (and perhaps even some spoilers).
Will you be attending Comic-Con this year? If so, will you check out the Torchwood: Miracle Day panel and advance screening?

Captain Jack’s Return to Doctor Who “Already Discussed”
John Barrowman has revealed the return of Captain Jack Harkness to Doctor Who has “already been discussed”.
The character first appeared in Doctor Who during it’s comeback series in 2005, and returned periodically under the reign of then show runner Russel T. Davies. Since Steven Moffat (who originally wrote Captain Jack in ‘The Empty Child) took over, however, Barrowman hasn’t featured in the show.
Speaking to Zap2it, Barrowman claimed a return is “in the cards, but who knows whether it will happen?”
“I’ve always said that if I’m asked to go back to Doctor Who, I’ll go at the drop of a hat. That’s where Captain Jack got his beginnings.”
Showrunner Moffat has previously insisted he would “love to have him [Jack] back.”
“In my head there is a continuing story,” Moffat explained. “There’s no idea that we’re abandoning anything. There is an element that The Doctor moves on from people in a rather scary but inevitable way. He won’t be nearby forever.”
Barrowman will reprise his role as Captain Jack in Torchwood: Miracle Day, which is set to air next month on BBC One in the UK and Starz in the US.

John Barrowman Stands In
John Barrowman is to step in as a guest judge on BBC One ‘s So You Think You Can Dance, replacing Nigel Lythgoe.
He will stand in for Atlantic-hopping Lythgoe, who is tied up with his work on American Idol which is nearing its conclusion.
Arlene Phillips will be promoted to head judge for this week as the 10 remaining dancers are put through their paces.
Lythgoe returns on May 28.
Barrowman has already been involved in the series as a guest judge at the “choreography camp” stage.
“I can’t wait to come back and see how they have improved and developed as performers. It’s going to be great now it’s down to the top 10 dancers – the competition is getting hotter.”
Lythgoe, who is also soon to launch a further series of So You Think You Can Dance in the US, said: “I will be watching them dance for their lives from LA. I have no doubt John will bring his incredible pedigree to the panel and keep the dancers on their toes.”
